The samberigi houses are built by sticks, sago leaves for roofs, tree bucks for walls, palm floors, with fire places dividing the fire place. Canes are used a traditional cane.
All the cookings are done in here accept the mens hosue. The men may cook in the mens house but most cooking are done by women in the house were the wives(tanda:) and the children. Accept big cookings like "mumu" in pidgin english means cooking done by steam from heated stones over the fire. This picture a glimpse of how a village looks like. The mens house is always in the middle with their families houses on the sides.
